Double Take: Beyonce vs Katy Perry

Two major celebrities were both spotted wearing a Herve Leger midriff printed top with the matching bodycon skirt. Beyonce wore her look in an editorial spread where she graces the cover in the April cover shoot of Shape magazine. Katy Perry was seen wearing her look on the red carpet at the 2013 Kids Choice Awards. Who do you think rocked it better?

Sandy Hook Fundraiser

We were all grief stricken on December 12, 2012, when we heard of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary that claimed the lives of 20 children and 6 adults.  It is never easy to deal with tragedy, and even thinking about the incident now 4 months later it still brings a twinge of pain to the hearts of us all. Despite the pain that we all feel people are able to come together and be strong enough to help those affected.  Misfortune brings forth a sense of community and in efforts to alleviate the pain and suffering that accompanies a tragedy of the magnitude emerges pray, charity, honor and awareness.

In efforts to honor the 26 lives lost, emerged Sandy Hook Promise (http://www.sandyhookpromise.org/). Sandy Hook Promise is an organization that is dedicated to remembering those individuals that lost their lives on December 12^th, to support our families, our neighbors, our teachers, our community with dedication and love as well as the material and financial needs they will require in the days ahead, and to encourage conversations to emerge to ideas and ways to combat the reoccurrence of this tragedy.  



Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is another organization that has stepped up to help those affected. Catholic Charities of Fairfield County has positioned staff to Newtown to reach out to the families who are trying to cope with the loss of a child or family member. Counselors are working with teachers to provide them with guidance to help their students to restore comfort and the feeling of being safe while in school as well as to deal with the impact of the loss of their classmates and teachers. If you will be in New York City on April 5, 2013 and would like to donate to Catholic Charities of Fairfield County Trauma Response Services please come out to the Sandy Hook Fundraiser/Karaoke Night at Le Midi Bistro located at 11 East 13^th Street from 6:30pm-10:30pm. There is a suggested $10 donation, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated. Once inside you can partake in French Cuisine including free appetizers and $5 dishes, as well as reduced priced beer, wine and cocktails while your friends belt out tunes and French films are projected.
